Scoring methodology

A ranking is only trustworthy if the reader can check it. Here is the entire process, the scale and the weights we use.

A four-step process

  1. 1

    1. Define the scope

Each ranking is limited to one concrete purchasing need and includes the providers a buyer in Vietnam actually meets while searching — national companies and local ones alike.

  2. 2

    2. Collect public data

Sources are official websites, contact pages, product or project catalogues, warranty terms and whatever the company states about itself. Anonymous reviews are not used as a scoring basis.

  3. 3

    3. Score each criterion

Each criterion is scored 0 to 10. A 10 means the requirement is fully met and verifiable; low scores usually reflect information that is not published, or a service that simply does not include that item.

  4. 4

    4. Compute the total and rank

The total is the weighted average of the criteria, rounded to one decimal. Position follows directly from that number, with no manual adjustment.

Criteria and weights

Weights differ between rankings because buyers’ priorities differ. Within each ranking the weights always add up to 100%.

Three editorial rules

No guessing in place of data

If something is not published, we record it as “not published” rather than assuming. That may lower the company’s transparency score.

Scope is not a flaw

The “Worth knowing” section describes limits of applicability — no branch in central Vietnam, for instance — not an allegation about service quality.

A formula you can re-check

Every component score appears in the comparison table, so anyone can multiply by the weights and verify the total themselves.

Request a data update

Representatives of listed companies can send corrections with verifiable sources: registration documents, a warranty policy page, a new office address. We check them and update the scores if the facts have changed.
